Extended range, with dropbar or flatbar, for 3T Ultra Boost

Longer riding adventures are possible for off-road e-bike consumers thanks to a longer battery life and generous tyre clearance of the 3T Ultra Boost frame. The new 3T bike is also available in two versions: dropbar and flatbar.

Just over two years ago 3T claimed to usher in ‘a new era of e-gravel’ with the RaceMax Boost. This bike announced 3T’s entry into the e-bike market. The bike, based on the RaceMax frame, was equipped with a Mahle X-35 pedal assist system.

Following the release of the X-20 engine system, 3T has presented the evolution of its e-gravel bike project. With more torque and a cadence sensor installed in the bottom bracket, the new motor was smaller and lighter than its predecessor and boasted a more refined power delivery system.

3T’s 2.0 version of the RaceMax Boost, the Ultra Boost, offers increased battery capacity from 236Wh to 350Wh. Due to the more generous tube sections characterising the Ultra frame compared to the RaceMax, a larger battery can be housed. This helps to extend the bike’s range by nearly 50%.

According to 3T… ‘With relatively gentle power management, a rider under 75kg on a hilly fast gravel/paved route can comfortably ride more than 150km with 2000m of elevation gain (considering the EU 25km/h speed limit). This is possible without compromising the handling and pedalling experience of a ‘standard bike’ since the weight is only around 12 kg for the lightest assembly.’

The new bike comes in a drop bar version, which is more performance-oriented, while the flat bar version offers a more relaxed upright fit and increased control. Ultra Boost is available with 700c or 650b wheels in both dropbar (fitted with a SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 1×12 groupset) and flatbar (fitted with SRAM Force D1 AXS 1×12 or Force D1 AXS 1×12) versions – offered at a list price of €5,999 / US$6,599.

The flatbar version also has a 3T i28 carbon rim upgrade version for €6,999 / US$7,699.
